My Journey
From curiosity to expertise — a timeline of my Android & Custom ROM journey since 2018.
The Beginning
Discovered the world of Custom ROMs. Flashed my first custom ROM and was instantly hooked. Started exploring what makes Android so customizable.
Deep Dive into Learning
Began seriously studying how Custom ROMs work — understanding bootloaders, partitions, recovery systems, and the Android build system.
Exploring ROM Internals
Dug deeper into system internals — studying device trees, vendor blobs, and how popular ROMs like LineageOS and AOSP are structured.
First Modifications
Started making my first tweaks — modifying system properties, applying patches, and experimenting with small but meaningful changes to ROM behavior.
Study Phase Complete
Consolidated knowledge of the Android ecosystem — kernel compilation basics, Magisk modules, and the full workflow of building from source.
Major Upgrade — Active Editing
Levelled up significantly — actively editing ROM source code, making meaningful changes to system apps, UI modifications, and custom features.
Building & Contributing
Started pushing projects to GitHub. Contributing changes, maintaining repos, and sharing knowledge with the Android community.
Education + Growth
Enrolled in BCA at DSVV. Combining formal CS education with self-taught Android expertise. Continuing to build and learn simultaneously.
